Internal push notifications in Chatbot Builder AI allow you to receive instant alerts about user interactions, assigned tasks, or urgent issues directly on your mobile device. Because Chatbot Builder AI functions as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on iOS, you must add it to your home screen to unlock push notification capabilities.

Step-by-Step Configuration

Sign Up & Select Channel

If you haven’t already, log in to your account.
  1. Tap Sign Up or Log In.
  2. Select a channel (we recommend Facebook for the smoothest notification integration).
  3. If creating a new bot, give it a name and tap Continue.

Add to Home Screen

To enable system-level notifications, the app must be installed as a PWA.
  1. Open Safari on your iOS device.
  2. Tap the Share icon (box with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the browser.
  3. Scroll down and select Add to Home Screen.
  4. Name the app (e.g., “Chatbot Builder”) and tap Add.
Place the new app icon on your main home screen or dock for quick access.

Launch the App

Close Safari and open the Chatbot Builder AI app icon you just added to your home screen. It will launch in full-screen mode (without the browser address bar).

Enable Notifications

  1. Navigate to the Inbox tab in the bottom menu.
  2. Tap the Enable Notifications banner or button.
  3. When the iOS system popup appears, tap Allow.

Re-Authenticate (Crucial)

Do not skip this step. Notifications often will not trigger until a fresh session is established after permissions are granted.
  1. Sign Out of the application entirely.
  2. Close the app (swipe up from the bottom of your screen to kill the process).
  3. Re-open the app.
  4. Log back in using the same method (e.g., Facebook).

Verify Activation

Return to your Inbox.
  • If the “Enable Notifications” button is gone, you are all set.
  • If you still see issues, go to Settings > Admin, click the three dots next to your name, and toggle Browser Notifications off and then on again.

Test the Alert

To ensure everything is working:
  1. Create a simple flow in the Flow Builder.
  2. Add an Action block -> Notifications -> Notify Admin.
  3. Select your own name from the dropdown list.
  4. Preview the flow.
You should immediately receive a push banner on your iOS device confirming the test.
