Tags are a useful and important feature to segment and target your Messenger subscribers for your marketing campaigns. For example, you can use tags to group your audience for different campaigns, products or services, targeting, and much more.

Where Can I Create Tags?

You can create tags in the Flows section.

You can also enable the sync tags to integrate the tags that you are assigning to your subscribers with the Facebook Page Manager Inbox.Sync Tags option

Adding Tags to Subscribers

Adding tags to subscribers can be done in two ways:
  1. Manually
  2. Automatically

Add Tags Manually

Tags that you created can be assigned to your subscribers manually, but note that it is a time-consuming process.

Add Tag to Individual Subscriber

To apply a tag to a particular subscriber, go to the “Contacts” tab by navigating through the main menu.Contacts Tab
Now, select the subscriber by clicking their name on the list and add the tag in the given field as you need.Add tag to subscriber

Add Tag to Multiple Subscribers

You can also add tags to multiple subscribers manually by selecting “Contacts” (use the checkbox) and clicking the ‘three horizontal lines’. Select “Add Tag” to add the tags to multiple subscribers manually.

Add Tags Automatically in the Funnel

Assigning tags for your Messenger subscribers can also be done automatically in the flow builder using Messenger chatbots. To do this:
  1. Create a Tag first and select the flow on which you want to add an automatic tagging feature to subscribers.
  2. You can use this automatic tagging feature in three places in the flow builder:
While creating a chat flow, you can use the action “Add Tag” at a certain point to tag your subscribers on the flow automatically.

Click on + or double-click on the canvas > action (to choose the action block).

Click on the action block > add content > actions > add tag.
