Connecting your Instagram account is a quick process that authorizes Chatbot Builder AI to send and receive messages on your behalf.

Connection Process

Navigate to Channels

  1. Log in to your Chatbot Builder AI dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings in the main menu.
  3. Select Channels.
  4. Click on Instagram.
  5. Click the Connect button.

Grant Permissions (Crucial)

You will be redirected to a Facebook authorization window.
Select All Accounts: When asked which Instagram accounts and Facebook Pages you want to use, select ALL of them.If you only select one specific account now, you will face permission errors if you try to connect a second bot later. It is safer to grant “All” access at the account level.

Activate the Bot

  1. You will be redirected back to the Chatbot Builder AI platform.
  2. You will see a list of all Instagram accounts associated with your Facebook profile.
  3. Locate the specific account you want to automate.
  4. Click the Green “Connect” Button on the right side of that row.
Done! Your bot is now connected. Any flow you build can now be deployed to this Instagram account.

Common Issues

If you do not see your account in the list after returning from Facebook:
  1. Check Account Type: Ensure your Instagram account is set to Business or Creator mode (Personal accounts do not work).
  2. Check Facebook Link: Ensure the Instagram account is actively linked to a Facebook Page in the Instagram app settings.
  3. Re-authorize: Go to your personal Facebook Settings > Business Integrations, remove “Chatbot Builder”, and try the connection process again from Step 1.
