The Default Agent (formerly Auto-GPT) acts as your chatbot’s fallback intelligence. When enabled, it uses OpenAI to automatically generate responses for any user input that doesn’t match a specific Keyword, Trigger, or Flow.

Configuration Guide

1

Access Account Settings

Navigate to Settings > Integrations in your dashboard.
2

Open OpenAI Settings

Locate the Prompt Engineering (OpenAI) card and click Edit (or Manage).
3

Toggle Status

Find the Default Agent switch:
  • Turn ON: Enable the switch. Ensure your Business Information Prompt is filled out so the AI knows how to represent your brand.
  • Turn OFF: Disable the switch. The bot will stop answering undefined queries automatically.
4

Save Changes

Click Save to apply the new setting immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, but it is not recommended. If you enable the Default Agent without providing a “Business Information” prompt or Knowledge Base, the AI will give generic, hallucinated, or irrelevant answers. It needs instructions to be helpful.
If you want the bot to say a specific phrase (e.g., “I didn’t understand, please pick an option”) instead of using AI:
  1. Turn Default Agent OFF.
  2. Go to Settings > General.
  3. Select a specific flow under the Default Flow (formerly Default Reply) dropdown.
No. The Default Agent toggle is a manual setting. You cannot currently schedule it to activate only during off-hours (e.g., nights and weekends) through this specific menu.
Yes. Disabling the agent pauses the functionality but does not delete your system prompts or uploaded files. They will be there when you turn it back on.
