Automating Telegram allows you to build powerful bots for support, sales, or community management. Unlike other platforms, Telegram automation relies on creating a “Bot” account through Telegram’s official tools.

Connection Guide

1

Create a Bot with BotFather

To start, you need to register a new bot with Telegram.
  1. Open Telegram and search for @BotFather (or click here).
  2. Click Start.
  3. Type /newbot and send the message.
  4. Follow the prompts:
    • Name: The display name (e.g., “My Business Support”).
    • Username: A unique handle ending in bot (e.g., my_business_support_bot).
  5. BotFather will generate an Access Token (it looks like 123456:ABC-DEF1234ghIkl-zyx57W2v1u123ew11).
Keep this token safe! Anyone with this token can control your bot.

Building Flows for Telegram

When designing flows for Telegram, you have two options for the message type:

Omnichannel (Recommended)

Build once, deploy everywhere. Best for text, images, and quick replies that work across Messenger, Instagram, and Telegram.

Telegram Specific

Use this if you need channel-specific features like native Telegram buttons or inline keyboards that might not translate perfectly to other platforms.
